According to the regulatory requirements introduced by the new provisions on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), included in Law No. 166 of November 14, 2024, which converts, with modifications, the decree-law of September 16, 2024, e-commerce platforms also known as Marketplaces must provide sellers with the possibility to use a simplified method for the declaration of products placed on the market and the related application of environmental contributions.
Through this system, e-commerce platforms have the ability to take charge of collecting data and contributions from third-party sellers who use their channels to market one or more types of products covered by EPR regime (such as batteries, as well as EEE and finished textile products).
