Selling batteries in the European Union through online commerce or marketplaces requires registration with the foreign registry of the exporter or national distributor placing the batteries on the market, directly targeting the end users in EU countries. From August 18, 2025, selling batteries in countries such as Germany, Sweden, Poland, and the Netherlands will mandatorily require the registration number with the national registry identifying the producer.
It is important to act in time, considering the timeframes required by foreign registries to validate registration procedures. For this reason, ECOEM has customized the foreign EPR service aimed at sellers and resellers operating through digital platforms or marketplaces in the resale of batteries and electrical and electronic equipment to foreign countries. A solution that allows distributors to comply with the legislative requirements of the new battery regulation on extended producer responsibility and to pay the ecological contribution to the competent European authorities through the ECOEM platform, offering dedicated support and customer service.
