WHAT IS WEEE?

WEEE is the acronym that indicates the Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment. WEEE, equivalent to the European term WEEE (Waste of Electric and Electronic Equipment), is the term used to identify the category of waste from electrical and electronic equipment.

WHAT IS A WEEE CONSORTIUM?

The consortium is a legally recognized voluntary aggregation that coordinates and regulates joint initiatives for the performance of certain activities of companies or public bodies. Although it is stunned on the type of “association” it is unsuitable to be configured as such. Just consider that, unlike the association, the consortium does not establish a structural relationship with the consortium members. The consortium achieves a contractual agreement, but it is not in any way similar to other forms of contractual aggregation, such as “business in participation” and “temporary business associations”, provided for by law

WHAT IS INTENDED BY "PRODUCER/IMPORTER"?

The Producer / Importer of EEE that makes part of the WEEE Application field has substantial obligations:

the registration in a Collective System recognized by the Ministry of the Environment;
registration in the National EEE Producers Register;
the application of the WEEE Eco-Contributions on the EEE commercialized in Italy;
informative and documental obligations towards the consumers and the Consortium.

WHAT EQUIPMENT ENTERS IN THE WEEE REGULATIONS?

All Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) that depends, for its proper functioning, from electric currents or electromagnetic fields and the generating equipment, transfer and measurement of these fields and currents and designed to operate with a voltage not exceeding 1000 volts for alternating current and 1500 volts for direct current. An example, indicative and not exhaustive, of these devices is given in annexes 1A and 1B of the Legislative Decree Nº151/2005 (Art. 3 paragraph 1b of the Legislative Decree Nº151/2005)

WHAT ARE THE OBLIGATIONS FOR THE PRODUCERS/IMPORTERS OF DOMESTIC EEE?

The Producer / Importer of EEE that makes part of the WEEE Application field has substantial obligations:
